I've been having a problem lately with a persistent flamer who claims to be only trying to "help" by listing all my flaws and the flaws in a story I'm working on publicly. I responded to them, trying to explain the chapter they commented on (they had problems with some word combinations that nobody else I talked to had a problem with, such as "quietly commanded" and "lurching to his feet," and I wanted to explain why I chose them) and they commented right back, saying I was childish and conceited and that they were only trying to be a friendly reviewer, and trying to get me some more views. I know I probably should have ignored them, but I responded trying to tell them that their review, well meant or not, had hurt my feelings and not my ego. Now, though, I'm afraid that they'll just keep attacking me, no matter how reasonable I am. And because I was foolish enough to respond a couple of times, I think they might keep bashing me as I upload. There is no report feature, and I can't delete or hide comments. What should I do???

If this is happening on Artgrounds, privately contact one of the administrators. One of us will address your problem. If this is occurring on another art website, contact the administrators there. I know deviantART has a block system, so if it's that bad, just block the user from your page altogether. That will eliminate the comments.

It isn't here, but I don't really want to say where- as much as I dislike flamers and the like, i don't want to sic a whole website on them or anything. Unfortunately, I can't block users or delete comments or anything. It isn't devART. :/ I could try contacting an admin, though. Thanks for the advice
