...Did I spell career right? Oh well...
If I did, what do you think I'd be best at? -whoosh-
By the way.. if you want to ask as well.. go ahead. xD phoenixtears Joined on: 15 Jun 2006 18:56 | Re: If I got an art related career... | Yeah, that's how you spell career. And hmm. I'd recommend looking into animations with Disney and the like, you seem to be most fluent in animals, and Disney certainly does a lot of animal animations, although they seem to be pulling away from traditional animation into 3D so you may want to dabble with that as well. You could try and get a summer internship after you get into college with disney, pixar, or another large film production agency. They don't pay you (typically), but it's experience you can put on your resume, and gives you a great experience with the company and gives ya an idea of what to expect in the industry. Sure the internships mostly consist of following around an artist getting them coffee and maybe doing a couple of sketches here and there while doing faxes and other paperwork, but it gets you an insiders glimpse of the place. Hope that helps a little :D | What the hell are you, A farmer? http://phoenixtears.deviantart.com |

Hope that helps a little :D Noone can really tell you what career you should do. you yourself need to find it. Career wise you must not only think about what you enjoy but what will be able to pay for a decent lifestyle. decent money making careers in art come from good college education.
For example in Animation/Game design/Film industry they all look for people with a degree or more it tends to be in the job requirement. They also want real industry experience so its best to do lower level art jobs to put on your CV first.
Pay is also different for example im looking for jobs in london and its all pretty much like this.
Junior: 18k a year.
Middleweight : 25k-30k a year.
Senior: 40k + a year.
one even had a position for 39k a MONTH.
art pays -very- well. lol. but you need to know what your doing. Wow Sammy, xD I was just asking what people'd think I'd do best at, y'know?
But holy jeeze. I gotta show those numbers to my dad, he might have a heart attack! It just harder to get them. You need a kick ass portfolio(I think i spelled that right)to even get them consider you for the job. So getting the degree would make things easier and you would make more money for having one too. | i reject your reality and substitute my own |

Illustration is good, like doing art for story books and things. I'm on a 2D animation course at the moment, and thats a lot of fun. I enjoy it a lot. I've been told theres a load of work online for animators, like websites and stuff and advertising. Then theres concept art for games/films. Story boarding. I think you need to think about what you really like doing then work from there. Another tip is not to get too caught up in drawing a lot of one thing. You seem to draw a lot of animals especially dogs and wolfs. I'd try to add in a little more variety and experiment more. You'll be more employable that way. You need to be able to show them that you can do a wide range of things and that your flexible rather then just sticking on one narrow track like drawing wolfs. ;) | QUOTH THE RAVEN 'NEVERMORE' |
