So it finally happened. In collaboration with the other administrators, I have assembled an official code of conduct for ArtGrounds administrators. It is available here in PDF and PNG format. It shall apply from this point on. Expect revisions in the future!

These rules show a basic yet professional. Gives a good feel.
I agree with these and I am very glad/ahppy that you decided to re-do these. After close review of them I am very found of the «Do not Intimidate» standard. This is a good basic rule to follow when administrating anything where user contact is constant and a big part of what happens. Too many admins in past experiences have I seen that Like to throw words around and over step the boundaries of an administrator and slip into that dark category of a «griefer» or an abuser of users. Secondarily, I am quite glad that you have asked you administrators to keep a close eye on the general chats. It is rather simple logic of the structure and community of a site such as ArtGrounds that the gathering places of new users are the most common places to see breaches of the rules and CODs. By taking care of these areas, not only do you take care of the problems as they occur, but it also helps new users to learn the behavior that is expected from them as part of the community that has been created here at ArtGrounds. Also, I must say that you created a set of basic believes and guide lines for your administrators that should be easy to follow and easy to maintain. With this COD, you should have a strong and well connected administration staff that will help to keep ArtGrounds running, and its community quite happy. With all that said, I would like to thank you for doing such a great job with the COD, and with all of ArtGrounds as a whole. Raven~~ Ace of Spades | Raven~~ Ace Of Spades "I'm confused... Wait... I know, I was one of them. That's the perfect confidence booster right there. «Do not Intimidate» This is another one of my favorites, because it follows the same lines. Where as an admin (new or old) shouldn't be unsure of their power, and be hesitant, s/he shouldn't overstep his/her authority either or get power hungry. A healthy middle is perfect, and you putting both in here was perfect. «Do not break the rules» This is EXTREMELY important. EXTREMELY. I know that sometimes admins forget to follow the rules ('cause we're having too much fun, or something), and, on occasion, purposely don't follow the rules (like leaving drawings behind in the sketcher). I love seeing this in bold text, as a reassurance that it's something we HAVE to do, rather than a fuzzy thing. «Do Not Hide» This is perfect. Some of the admins need back up on the general rooms when there are big problems <3 As for the rest of the rules, I love them all, to be honest. I can't comment on everyone of them, because everything is pretty self explainitory. But the fact that everything's been enforced in huge, bold letters really excites me! As of right now, I can't think of anything to add, but as soon as I do, I will contact you! <3 |

Hopefully this should settle the little bit of 'admin h8' that has been thrown around. There was never much of it, just a few people might say something about one particular admin, but with these rules, then hopefully people will start to understand that admin now have rules as well. And I honestly don't find any of these strict. These are perfect, and anyone who is looking forward to being an administrator in the future days should keep these in mind. The only problem I would ever have, if I were ever to be an administrator(hypothetically speaking), would be that I'm not on any IM programs most of the time. Sometimes I'm on all day, but I occassionally refuse to get on for days, for no reason what-so-ever. lol Either way, excellent in all ways, Thor. You've done well for your web art community! Bravo! |
