I know that a lot of you appreciate this site because it's small and cozy. It's a little different from the other sites, you tell me. Some of you note that the site could look a little better. Others enjoy Sketcher, but think it could be more stable. The forum could need an Edit button, and the comments a Reply function. I couldn't agree with you more. I programmed this site on my own. I am a single person, today, keeping the cogs going. If the site needs changing, I am the one who will carry it out. In return from you, the users, I get more requests for change, but also appreciation and gratitude. This has, and continues to be a fine arrangement. I'm grateful for the work our admins carry out, and they're crucial for the site in many ways. However, I wish, perhaps, that the computer literacy, in terms of maintainance and programming, were a little higher among our crew ranks. Thus we reach the crux of the matter I wish to address with this forum post: ArtGrounds needs more nerds. We need computer wizards, sharp skillful geeks, to help create a better site for everyone. We need web designers, pixel artists and programmers. Put bluntly, the sort of people who funded and originally hung out at DeviantArt before it became a mainstream art community. We do not wish to change our identity, to become copycats. We want to emphasize our uniqueness. Uniqueness, however, requires nurturing and good packaging to succeed. I created this site, but am sorry to inform you that I am not a superhuman. I am asking for your help. If you know a computer geek, put them in touch with me. If you are a geek yourself, what are you waiting for? |

Yay, long live artgrounds! Meh, there was this one dude I still talk to named Chris who I took web publishing with my senior year, and he's really good with javascript and such. He always had to help me and everyone else in the class out, and he always seemed to be one step ahead of everyone. Maybe I can talk to him and see if he'd like to help out X3 I don't know if I'd be of much help myself, I know HTML pretty good but I suck at Javascript. I dun get that stuff XP

If I can find a way to learn how to do more, I'd be happy to help though. | Uh-oh. |

I've chatted to Darkling and we've gotten off to a small start. Is anyone else interested in helping out, perhaps with programming? People who help out will get temporary admin status. If they do a good job and intend to continue doing so, they'll probably become permanent admins. stratagem Joined on: 26 Aug 2005 04:52 | Re: Future of ArtGrounds | I wanna help, but I don't know anything :( Uh, I can paint, or learn something :P | Uh-oh. |

Perhaps I can convince him to learn some C++ and some HTML to get him more useful, but if you need any network advice feel free to contact him.
