Together with a map service like [url=http://www.maporama.com/]Maporama.com[/url], this can be used to tell everyone where in the world you are. After adding yourself, you can view yourself and your friends plotted on the world map: [url]http://www.artgrounds.com/map.php[/url] If you hover on the dots, you will see who is located there. For those of you that are concerned with your own privacy: The dots are plotted at full-pixel positions on a map that spans 1518x759 pixels. For longitudes (east-west) this gives an accuracy of: 360 degrees : 1518 pixels ≈ 0.24 degrees 86400 seconds : 1518 pixels ≈ 57 seconds 12756.32 kilometers : 1518 pixels ≈ 8.4 kilometers 7926.41 miles : 1518 pixels ≈ 5.22 miles The aspect ratio is 1:1 and similar numbers thus apply for latitudes (north-south): 180 degrees : 759 pixels ≈ 0.24 degrees 6378.16 kilometers : 759 pixels ≈ 8.4 kilometers 3963.21 miles : 759 pixels ≈ 5.22 miles In summary, the maximum accuracy to which it is possible to plot anyone's position with this map is 8.4 kilometers or 5.22 miles.

UPDATE: The map has been scaled up to precisely 5x5 km² per pixel.

On further thought, 5x5 km² per pixel is the accuracy at the equator. Further north or south, longitude accuracy increases inversely proportional to the the Earth's circumference at each latitude, measured perpendicularly to Earth's axis. Anyway...

Latitudes are -90 (south pole), 0 (equator) to 90 (north pole). Longitudes are -180 (west), 0 (international date line) to 180 (east). If you actually live in the western part of the southern hemisphere, negative numbers for both latitude and longitude are to be expected.
