I want to say thank you to the users who've been appreciative and polite about the new banner/skin. To the other users who got distressed and left: I'm sorry that me and Thor didn't meet your expectations for the banner. I still think it's lovely. The banner was supposed to be fun and lively. The colors represent how you can color in Sketcher. The «A» is the pencil and brush tools. The blue mascot holding the tablet is there to introduce the newcomers to tablets.
On the other hand...
I always log on to my PC and sign into AG. AG is a part of my life and I have grown fond to using Sketcher. I love it when I sign in and people greet me in the morning, and say goodnight at the end of the day. I will never leave AG just because of a change of a banner. It's just plan silly and I won't go because of that. Even if someone made a better design and Thor replaced my banner, I wouldn't go. I painted this out of the respect I have for AG. I love it still, and I love my hubby, who created this wonderful website, that wouldn't be complete without its heart: a drawing program called Sketcher. It makes people come together to do great collaborations, and witness wonderful art being made. | Title: I still love ArtGrounds!

I'm sorry that this stupid drama happened. ;w; i love the banner, i was just aggrivated and didn't wanna deal with this stuff until it calmed down.

I was a bit surprised that the new layout caused so much drama, really. I still think that it's a cute mascot, and I'm really digging the blue. Much easier on the eyes.
I'm here to study anatomy, do composition-doodles, and act like a moron - so the «furry» theme really isn't my style, and I can understand where some of the more Conceptart-oriented artists who are complaining are coming from, but I don't think it's that big a deal. I'm pretty much in the minority as far as the style of art/subject matter goes here, so I'm just along for the ride.

It wasn't the banner that bothered some people, I think. Just the way people responded to all the changes put together. I'm glad Thor gave us Skin options. That was nice of him, since I'll always love the old AG. I think it's great Thor wanted to make changes, and I love the choices we get. We now have more Sketchers, and more skins. I don't get whats so bad about the banner. I think the banner is completely AMAZING. Seriously. The colours, the letters, the character all rock. I dont get why people get put off by a simple banner.Posted by Physcadellica  on 10 Aug 2008 02:30
